OH CREATIVE

Digital marketing that makes its own content

Most digital marketing in this city is media buying with the creative sent somewhere else. We make the creative and run the media, so the ad you are paying to show is one we shot. Adelaide based, working worldwide.

Media buying is the easy half. The creative is what decides whether it works, and it is the part most agencies send away.

We shoot the ad, write the copy, build the page it lands on and run the account. When a week goes flat we can recut it rather than raise a job with a supplier.

    Report

Monthly, in plain language, against money.

Ad platforms have taken most of the levers away. Smart bidding sets the price, broad match picks the query and Performance Max decides where the money goes. What is left for a person to control is the asset: the film, the still, the first line of copy and the page the click lands on. That is now the main thing separating an account that returns money from one that spends it, and it is the one thing most agencies do not make themselves.

It changes what happens when a campaign is flat. An agency that briefs its production out has to raise a job, wait for a quote, wait for a shoot and wait for an edit, and by the time new creative lands the quarter is gone. We book a morning, shoot the variant and have it live that week. Being able to answer a bad week with new footage rather than a bid adjustment is the practical reason this studio runs media at all.

Reporting here is written against money, not against impressions. Every month you get what was spent, what came back, which creative carried it and what we are changing next, in language you could read out in a meeting without translating it first. Impressions, reach and engagement rate are in there, but they sit underneath the numbers that decide whether this is worth continuing.

We set the tracking up before anything runs, because a campaign measured after the fact can only ever be guessed at. That means conversion actions that match real enquiries, a server side signal where the browser one is unreliable, and call and form tracking that tells the difference between a lead and a wrong number. It is unglamorous and it is the reason the monthly report can say something definite.

It suits a business that already has something worth showing and is tired of the gap between the agency that plans and the studio that shoots. Brands we work with are making a product, running a venue, launching a car, putting on an event or touring an artist, and they need the campaign and the footage to be the same piece of work rather than two invoices that never quite line up.

It suits a budget that has somewhere to go. If the monthly media spend is small enough that a single shoot would eat it, you are better served by one piece of content you own outright than by a managed account, and we will say so rather than take the retainer. When the spend is big enough to justify both, having them under one roof is where the difference shows up.

How much does digital marketing cost in Adelaide?

It depends on whether you need the creative made as well as the media run. Management is quoted monthly against the work involved rather than as a percentage of spend, and production is quoted per shoot. Most clients start with one piece of content and a single channel, then widen it once they can see what a month looks like. Ask and we will put real numbers against your situation rather than a range that fits everyone.

Is it worth hiring a marketing agency?

It is worth it when the agency does something you cannot do faster yourself. Buying media is learnable and plenty of businesses run their own accounts well. Making the creative at a standard that holds up next to a national brand is the part that does not transfer, and it is the part that now decides whether a campaign works. If what you need is someone to press the buttons, you probably do not need an agency. If you need the work made, you do.

Do you lock clients into long contracts?

No. Management runs month to month. We would rather you stayed because the reporting gives you a reason to than because a contract does.

How long before digital marketing works?

Paid media tells you something within weeks, because the spend buys data quickly. SEO is slower and honest answers are measured in months, not days. Content sits between the two: a film made this month keeps earning across both for years, which is part of why we lead with it.

Do you do SEO as well as ads?

Yes, and they are planned together. Running them separately is how businesses end up paying for clicks on a term they already rank for, and ignoring the one they do not. The plan says which channel owns which query before any money moves.

Who actually works on the account?

The person who takes your brief. They are on the shoot and they are in the ad account. Nothing is relayed through an account manager to a supplier who never met you, which is the usual reason a campaign stops sounding like the business that commissioned it.

Do you only work with Adelaide businesses?

We are based in Adelaide and a lot of the work is here, but campaigns run wherever the customers are. We have made work for clients on the other side of the country and the other side of the world.

Can you work with the website we already have?

Usually. If it loads quickly and the enquiry path is clear, we will run to it and leave it alone. If it is slow or the form is buried, we will say so before you spend on traffic that it will not convert, and we build sites as well if it comes to that.

What happens in the first month?

An audit of what is running and what it is returning, tracking set up properly, a plan across the channels that matter, and the first shoot booked. Nothing goes live on guesswork and nothing is spent before we can measure it.

Can you handle the content as well as the campaigns?

That is the reason to use OH CREATIVE rather than a media agency. The video, the photography and the social posts are made here by the same team running the spend, which is why the campaign and the content agree with each other.

Let's make something.
